Digital Radiography

Instead of traditional photographic film, Dr. Van Pelt uses a form of x-ray imaging called digital imaging to produce a better image of his patient’s mouth. Digital imaging is a great advantage when it comes to time efficiency because it bypasses chemical processing and adds the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.

Digital imaging requires less radiation to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography. With the immediate image preview and availability of digital imaging, Dr. Van Pelt can eliminate costly film processing steps that are usually passed along to the patient and offer a more viable, safer solution.
