What types of insurance do we accept?

We are happy to file your insurance claims to assist you in receiving the full benefits of your coverage.  We ask that you familiarize yourself with your insurance benefits, and provide us the correct information for the submittal of your claims. Your insurance is a contract between you, your employer, and the insurance company.  Please remember that most insurance companies do not attempt to cover all dental costs.

Some procedures and treatments may be non-covered services or not considered reasonable and necessary by your insurance company.  You are responsible for payment of these non-covered services.  While we strive to give you an accurate estimate of what your insurance will pay, this is only an estimate and not a guarantee of payment; therefore, you are ultimately responsible for the total amount of your dental fees.  Your estimated portion of the fees, including any co-pay or deductible, is due at time of service.

If for any reason claims are left unsettled or rendered not payable by the insurance company, you are responsible for payment of any charges pertaining to treatment received.  Please remember that the treatment recommended for you is indicated regardless of your dental insurance benefits, deductibles,

We accept and bill all insurance types, but are a Premier Provider for Delta Dental, Preferred Providers for United Concordia and Healthy Families andCare Credit®.

How can I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment with Troy C. Van Pelt DDS Family Dentistry by emailing us by calling (530) 283-9988. Business hours are Tuesday through Thursday 8 am until 3:30 pm and on Friday from 8 am until 12 pm.

What is your appointment cancellation policy?

When you schedule an appointment, we set that time aside exclusively for you.    If a previously scheduled appointment will not work as you had planned, we appreciate and expect that you will contact us as soon as possible.  A 48-hour notice is enough time for us to schedule another patient needing time in our office.  We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee if this policy is not respected.

For those with unpredictable schedules or who are unable to schedule in advance, we will gladly contact you as frequently as you wish for appointment times available on short notice.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Your first visit typically includes x-rays and a full examination by the doctor.  He will also be going over your medical history.  When sharing your medical history with the doctor, be sure to provide complete, up-to-date information on your health, recent hospitalization or surgeries, and your physician's name.  Tell the doctor the names, doses and frequency of any medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medications and herbal treatments.

At the examination, the doctor will discuss in detail with you any needed treatment.  Once a treatment plan has been agreed upon, our financial coordinator will discuss with you your financial obligation and payment options.  This may be done at the same appointment, or you may be scheduled for a consultation appointment.  There is no fee for this consultation.

For children we request only one parent be present in the operatory during your child’s visit.  For safety's sake, siblings and small children are not allowed in the treatment room or left unattended in the waiting room.  Please arrange for childcare if needed.
